In this session Pastor Thamo Naidoo is continuing on the subject of judgments that can be levied against the present day Church of Jesus Christ. In many Christian circles the idea that the Church will be judged is scorned at in favour of the hyper grace teachings.
Pastor Thamo reveals from scripture that the Church is not immune to judgment. In fact, judgement is an integral part of the new covenant. He explains that even though in the new covenant we are legally and positionally justified, with executive privileges as the sons of God in God’s family, we are still expected to live by divine standards. God will not wink at our behaviour, our attitudes, or our indifference towards Him. Judgment will begin in the House of the Lord. Today we are presented with two indictments that can be brought against the Church.
One of the first indictments against the Church is that the people have forsaken God. We should not be misled into thinking that because we read our Bibles, pray, go the church, etc. that we know the ways of God. Referencing the book of Jeremiah, Pastor Thamo reveals how the absence of understanding the ways of God is regarded as forsaking the ways of God.
“For My people are foolish, they have not known Me. They are silly children, and they have no understanding: They are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.” Jeremiah 4:22 (NKJV)
The second indictment, as presented and expounded in today’s session, is that God will judge the Church, for fabricating their own way of worshiping God. The Church is now polluted with innovative forms of Christianity as a result of modifying and interfering with the divine, biblical pattern set out in terms of how the Church should meet and function.
There is a clarion call for the Church, and an emphasis on church leaders, to return to the divine patterns and blueprints for God’s original intent for His Church. May you be richly blessed and empowered as you listen to this teaching.
