On this Sunday, the first of 2021, Pastor Chris Naidoo shares a message entitled – How To Start a New Journey.
The context of this message is that we are at the start of a new year, and whilst we are meant as the sons of God, to be governed primarily by the seasons and timing of God, we are also governed and regulated by the Gregorian calendar. As we stand, therefore, at the beginning of 2021, we are presented with an opportunity to recalibrate, to make some adjustments where necessary, to fine-tune ourselves again in terms of our walk with the Lord in this life.
The primary text for the basis of this message was Exodus 12:1-2 and Exodus 12:1. The first two verses give us the context of the children of Israel still in the land of Egypt and being prepared to leave the land of their oppression towards the promised land. In verse 11, Moses and Aaron receive and instruction, among many other instructions, from God as to how the Passover meal was to be eaten.
And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S Passover.
Chris then unpacked the interpretation of what it means to have one’s loins girded, to have one’s shoes on (sandals in the biblical context), a staff in your hand, and to eat the Passover meal in haste. If this was the formula given to the Israelites on the night in which they were to cross over from one season in their history to another, then we can use the same formula as we prepare to enter a new segment of our journey in Christ called 2021.
This message will set the tone in your heart to embrace the new year in the correct disposition and heart attitude.
